Reporting to the Maintenance Department, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks related to QPA maintenance. Mainly, he is assigned to the verification, maintenance and installation of signage on QPA territory. He also assists some of the others departments in the preparation and execution of their work.

Responsabilities

  • Install signage elements for various operations as directed (snow removal, etc.);
  • Take inventory of signage in the warehouse and draw up purchase list for missing signs;
  • Produce and install signage for various operations;
  • Check, repair and regularly update signage in various sectors;
  • Establish a list (with photos) of all signage on QPA territory;
  • Install snow clearing markers, speed bumps and other equipment;
  • Carry out various support tasks for specialized colleagues (welder, plumber, carpenter, etc.);
  • Provide water service to ships, alternating with other day laborers;
  • Assist colleagues in track maintenance and repair;
  • Participate in the installation and removal of cofferdams;
  • Participate in the installation and removal of fenders and quay ladders;
  • Set up, maintain and remove equipment required for our events and during the cruise season, at the various terminals (barricades, etc.);
  • Clear snow and ice from port infrastructures and facilities;
  • Participate in the maintenance of the Cale basins (water treatment, cleanliness);
  • Examine and maintain lifebuoy housings in various sectors on a regular basis;
  • Compile a list of fire extinguishers and assist the projects and external works coordinator with follow-up and inspections;
  • Act as deckhand during operations with the service boat, in support of the captain;
  • Clean and maintain various tools and equipment;
  • Operate forklift, small Merlo and other handling equipment as required;
  • Comply with health and safety regulations;
  • Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with environmental laws, regulations and policies;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

 

Daily

  • Work within a small team of multidisciplinary workers;
  • Work on different Port sites, in the heart of Old Quebec;
  • Work in a dynamic and stimulating environment, and perform a variety of tasks.

Qualifications

Formations

General secondary school diploma, or any other combination of educational backgrounds deemed relevant.

Experience

Six (6) months to one (1) year's experience in a similar position.
