Job Description

  • Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager, the incumbent plays an advisory role in OHS matters and is involved in prevention, coaching and training. He/she contributes to the development and maintenance of the OHS culture within the QPA.

Responsabilities

  • Participate in the application and enforcement of OHS laws, regulations, and policies (under federal jurisdiction);
  • Act as a resource person for APQ employees and managers;
  • Ensure a daily presence in the field;
  • Report changes or anomalies in the territory that could have an impact on workers OHS, and propose corrective measures;
  • Ensure that certain work complies with established safe work rules, methods, and procedures;
  • Participate as an expert on the local OHS committee, conduct workplace inspections carried out by the committee, and propose solutions to non-conformities in compliance with legislation;
  • Maintain and implement OHS management system (OHSMS) programs and procedures;
  • Act as a specialist in performing risk analysis, confined space entry and lockout;
  • Investigate accidents and near misses;
  • Provide training or safety minutes;
  • Create prevention tools to facilitate OHS management in the workplace;
  • Provide OHS orientation for new APQ employees;
  • Carry out all other related tasks.

  • Put into practice the full range of training expertise.

Qualifications

Formations

•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with specialization in occupational health and safety;

Experience

•Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position;
